The Lincoln-Woodstock area is a worthwhile drive from Waterville Valley. There are numerous restaurants, plenty of shopping, and great family attractions such as Clark's Trading Post, The Hobo Railroad, Hobo miniature golf, and the Loon Mountain Resort area.

In the Summer Lincoln and Woodstock are more quickly reached by the "forest highway" known as Tripoli Road. It saves about 10 miles of driving, but be warned it is an unpaved road after you crest the height of the land. Numerous campsites are located along this stretch of the road so travel slowly  for safety.

The two main streets to check out are Rt 112 (known to locals as "The Kanc") in Lincoln, and Rte 3 (or Mian Street) in North Woodstock. There are several outdoor adventure businesses that offer kayak trips on the Pemigiewassett River to zipline tours in the Summer and Fall, to Snowmobiling in the Winter months.
